The Titanic

In Reading, we have been combining our background knowledge (BK) with text clues (TC) to infer meaning.

BK + TC = Inference

To help us infer the meaning of unfamiliar words, we read about the Titanic disaster.  This is such an interesting and intriguing topic, and we all want to know more!

Click on "The Titanic" title above to view a slideshow of artifacts, photographs, and more information about the Titanic.  It's a special exhibit from Encyclopedia Britannica.  Just click on "next" in the upper right-hand corner of your screen to view the next picture of the slideshow.

I am so excited for each of you to have the opportunity to show off your skills next week with ISAT testing! You have exercised your brains to prepare them for this week, and now they are pumped and ready to go!

Here are some tips for the week ahead:
  1. Bring a good book to school on Monday because you will have some extra time for independent reading.
  2. Bring a yummy, healthy snack to keep your stomach happy and your brain fresh!
  3. Go to bed early, and wake up feeling refreshed!
  4. Relax and be confident: You have worked very hard, and I believe in you 100%!
